Hello everyone, I firstly wanted to say that I am in ultimate shock right now. Mainly this is because we were JUST about to undertake our first IVF/ICSI cycle due to severe male factor. We got pregnant this month after THREE YEARS of trying, completely naturally against all odds.
I am 27 (1 child from previous partnership aged 6) and my partner is 30 (1 child from previous partnership aged 9). We have been together for five years and have been TTC for just over three years with no positive pregnancy tests at all. This year we decided to seek fertility support and after a number of tests, all mine came back good but my partner came back with severe Oligospermia. He had only 400,000 sperm per field and only 1 million total sperm count (every man should have a minimum of 15 million sperm per field and 39 million total count). He had normal hormone profile but after a urology appointment where he had a scrotal sonogram (scan of the testicles) he was also told that both testicles looked abnormal.
As we set our hearts now on IVF/ICSI and prepared to fork out a big loan for our first round of treatment I discover that I am pregnant!
I didn't track symptoms but this is what I did notice:
- On Cycle Day 16, shortly after ovulation I had intense dizziness and nausea for two days (Odd?!)
- No significant period pain leading up to due date. Although had increased back ache and neck ache.
- Small amount of Creamy pink tinged CM for two days prior to period due date
- Acid reflux feeling and heartburn (mild)
- Tender swollen boobs
- Mild headaches
- Extreme irritability when hungry especially around lunch time
I am 4 weeks and 2 days and praying everything will be ok as we have waited so long for this.
I wish you all baby dust, remain strong especially with your partner. It will make all the difference in the end.
